Ok so I read the first book and thought the author had a good dark twist on the Peter Pan story. I really enjoyed it and thought the writing was good as it was my first time reading this author’s books. Then there was some hot sex and it was a bit racy but I’m no prude and enjoy this books. That being said this book just took a really bad turn towards Porno City and stayed there. Winnie was passed around like mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving and she “enjoyed” being called a whore the whole time. This story was also told from various POV’s like the first book. But every time we would read Winnie’s POV it was her just thinking of spreading her legs and pining over one of the lost boys and how he wouldn’t take her. In other words she was like a dog in heat. Everybody else’s POV was mostly about their lives on Neverland and where they came from, that I enjoyed but dreaded Winnies constant need for attention, It felt like the author was trying to write about a Polyamorous relationship but it was never really explained and there was no conversation about being ok with being shared and past r. Literally everything that they would do to her even when it was rough and borderline assault she would just come out and said it was ok she “liked it” Another thing I found that bothered me was how Cherry was the first person in Neverland to welcome Winnie by helping her. Plus Cherry clearly told her she had a thing for Vane but Winnie still went ahead and slept with him knowing this and didn’t care for her feelings. We were supposed to feel bad for Winnie cause Vane wouldn’t give in. She was such a Dog in heat then complaining about how I will not share my four guys with anybody. Like really? I was just a story that started good but went bad fast.
