The next day, she is shocked to find out that her mentor and employer, Dr. Maxwell is the prime suspect in Mrs. Henry’s poisoning. With the help of a fellow researcher, Alexander Ashton, Saffron sets out to find the true criminal and free her boss before she becomes a victim as well. The Botanist’s Guide to Parties and Potions is a lovely historical fiction novel set in 1924, with rich, deeply developed characters and an easy flow to the writing. It has a little bit of humor and romance added in with the mystery to form a wonderful novel! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
