I acknowledge that not everyone on the planet needs reading glasses or glasses to help them see distances. But a huge number of us do. And to get prescriptions for those things, we have to be evaluated by a set of standards. The standards for marriages and relationships can be trickier than eye exams. You know the part when they ask you number one? And then they flip the frame and ask about number two. And back and forth? Or it it close to the same? Or is it clearer but now you see three of them? This book helped us bring our marriage relationship into that kind of focus. By flipping the focus back and forth from what didn’t work to what worked, from honest assessment and very accurate descriptions that were hard fought and not always won, from personal experience, the core issues come into focus. One doesn’t have to be on the verge of divorce to appreciate the deep wisdom in these pages. In fact, reading this might save years of anguish.
