I’ve been trying to plan my Hawaii vacation, but the stuff I’ve been finding, both online, and in other guidebooks all seems to be from 2019 or well before, and it looks like Oahu and Maui (where I’m hoping to go) have changed a LOT. In fact, every time I contacted whale watching tours, or restaurants for reservations they turned out to be out of business now! Not with this book, thank goodness! Its clear that it was just updated, and it’s clear it was written by people who live in Hawaii. I really, really appreciate all of the cultural details in this book, the info on the nature sights, and all of the hidden gems (I feel like I’m finding things in this guide that sound great, that I’m not seeing elsewhere!). I may update this review when I get back, but I can tell you that on first read, this book is waaaay beyond the others that are currently available.
