I first read about Ronald Speirs in the Stephen Ambrose book 'Band of Brothers'. He seemed to be somewhat of a legend in his own time, and the HBO mini-series seemed to cement that. 'Fierce Valor' is a wonderfully well-written book. It gibes us an insite into who Ronald Speirs was as a man and soldier. Thus, it is a great asset to finally have a have a biography on a man who was a brave combat leader and an interesting character. It lifts a bit of the mystery that seemed to shroud his life. I recommend this book!
