I bought 2 books to use for GRE prep - this one and the 5lb. I also got the Kaplan flashcards and bought the Manhattan Prep phone app. I primarily studied using this book. I memorized words, went through all of the lessons (most of them a few or several times over), and learned or relearned math I haven't had to do in a long time. I studied my butt off for 6 weeks straight. I felt confident going into the test between all of the materials I used and studied incessantly - but then when it came time to take the actual exam, over 90% of the material I learned was NOT on the exam. My scores were 146 V, 141 Q. To say I am angry and frustrated is an understatement. I cannot believe how hard I studied these materials, only for most of it (almost all of it) to not have been needed. I can now do math I have never ever had to do and I know hundreds of words I have never needed to know and I can pick apart sentences, etc. but in all honesty, I feel like I wasted the $205 to take the test, and wasted the $25-$35 per book, plus the $14.95 for that app and the flashcards. I am so beyond annoyed.
